J. J. Machuca, pianist, compositor and keybordist fo bands such as Lagartija Nick and Lori Meyer (2013/2014) releases La Dimensión Humana , his tenth album, where through piano compositions, he highlights the complexity of the human conditions, its trascendence and its contrasts.
Inside the vinyl of the album, there are also acompanyning texts written by Ana Pisador, a Philosophy graduate, who emphasizes the universe of meaning and the complexities of the human experience from a philosophical perspective. In the live performance piano melodies interwine with the texts, projected on screen.
The album consists of two sides, representing the opposing forces within human nature. Side A is an ode to light and everything which manifests the fullness of being meanwhile Side B reveals its shadows and problem of evil.
The Piano of the 21st Century
Through an innovative system of optical sensors placed on the piano keys, J.J. Machuca connects the grand piano to a computer, expanding its sonic posibilities with an infinity range of sounds, transforming it into a synthesizer or multi-instrument.
